Email marketing

Hi all. We hear about the effectiveness of email marketing all the time. Since I am relatively new to the internet marketing scene, I have done some trials on every ad method I can find, including email marketing.

First of all be sure that every recipient of your email has opted in to receive it and supply a link where they can opt out. Be very careful that you follow these guidelines as you could be banned from any further communications which would cripple your ability to market effectively. Your best bet is to contract an autoresponder and then simply load your messages into it. Then you capture the customers email address and away you go. I highly recommend this method since the customer has asked for the info in the first place so your chances of making future sales is VERY good.

On the other hand, have experimented with these email companies and found the results very disapointing. These companies have lists of clients who have opted into receive emails from them. You pay them to send emails containing your message to targeted customers looking for what you offer. Based on my results I prefer to think that the are people who sign up to get paid to read emails. Companies send them emails, they click on them to read, and are paid say 5 cents for each one they click on.

Well as you can figure out this is not very effective for you. Your best bet is to capture your own emails with a website and capture form, and market them yourself. Once they opt in, have a series of emails setup containing your message set to go out at certain intervals over whatever period of time you choose. Now you can promote whatever you want, whenever you want. AND the monthly fee for the responder is much less than you would pay for the bulk mailing. About $19/month compared to $30-whatever depending on what you want EVERY time you mail.

So although I don't know much at this point I do know that purchasing bulk email advertising is not very effective.

Until next time

TRP
